JEWELLERY CARE GUIDE

At Class A Jewellers, we understand the value and sentiment attached to your precious jewellery pieces. Proper care and maintenance are essential to preserve the beauty and longevity of your pieces for generations to come. Follow these simple guidelines to ensure your jewellery remains as stunning as the day you acquired it.

If you have any questions or concerns about caring for your jewellery, don't hesitate to contact our knowledgeable team. We're here to help you enjoy your jewellery collection to the fullest extent possible.

STORAGE

  • Store each piece of jewellery separately in a soft cloth pouch or lined jewellery box to prevent scratching, tangling, or damage.
  • Keep your jewellery away from extreme temperatures, moisture, and direct sunlight, as these factors can tarnish or degrade certain metals and gemstones.

Wear and Handling

  • Remove your jewellery before engaging in activities such as exercising, swimming or gardening to prevent damage or loss.
  • Avoid exposing your jewellery to harsh chemicals, including household cleaners, perfumes, hairsprays, and cosmetics, as they can corrode metals and damage gemstones.
  • Handle your jewellery with care, avoiding excessive force or pressure that could cause bending, scratching, or breakage.
  • We recommend that jewellery is the last thing you put on in the morning, and the first thing you take off when you get home.

CLEANING

We recommend regularly cleaning your jewellery to maintain its shine and brilliance. All jewellery manufactured by Class A Jewellers is eligible for complimentary lifetime cleaning. A booking is not required for this service. As part of our cleaning service, our jewellers will thoroughly check your piece and ensure that no repairs are required.

Alternatively, if you wish to clean your jewellery at home, here are some helpful tips and guidelines:

  • Use a soft-bristled brush, warm water, and mild soap to gently clean dirt, oil, and residue from your jewellery.
  • For delicate pieces or jewellery with intricate designs, consider using a soft cloth to wipe away dust and grime.
  • Soft gemstones such as pearls, opals, and emeralds are particularly delicate and may require extra care to avoid damage. Avoid exposing them to chemicals, heat, or prolonged sunlight.

MAINTENANCE

  • Inspect your jewellery periodically for loose stones, damaged settings, or signs of wear and tear.
  • Have your jewellery professionally inspected and serviced by our qualified jewellers at least once a year to ensure it remains in optimal condition. When you bring Class A jewellery in for a complimentary clean, our jewellers will professionally inspect your piece to ensure it is in good condition.
  • White gold jewellery is rhodium plated to give it a bright, reflective finish. It is recommended to have your white gold rings re-rhodium plated every 12-18 months to maintain their lustre and brilliance.
